Ice Skating!
I LOVE ice skating!
I learned when I was three, and I have been skating ever since! I love it almost as much as Romeo and Juliet. It is so romantic, and when you are on a frozen pond, it is so peaceful and close to nature. I feel such a inner peacefulness. Does this happen with anyone else? When do you feel at peace with nature?

Re: Ice Skating!
A sunset going behind the beautiful mountains, with nothing but the sounds of the wild animals and the rushing water... very peaceful and thought-provoking. The sky lights up with beautiful red and orange glows that light up the world, and you feel like you are part of everything. Everything bad about the suburbs and what people think of you is gone. No preconceived notions, and nothing there but true happiness. That is what makes me feel peaceful, and that is what I love. I can only find peace like this in the Cascades. This is my escape and my joy in life.

Wow Mark!
That was really beautiful. Do you write poetry? That scene you described is so alluring and , well, i am speechless. If you are into poems, I have tons of poetry cafes and such that I could tell you about! I have never been hiking, but from your description it sounds glorious.

I wrote a poem once for English class a couple of months ago. My English teacher made a huge scene about how good it was, but I prefer to keep the beauty of the mountains in my pictures.

Yeah, I know I have better ones than that, but I don't feel like posting the same photos over and over again all over the Internet. It seems almost like P&P!

Don't worry, I will. P&P can be a vicious place, and not the kind of place for a help site. It sure is hilarious to watch flamewars in there though!

Why do you think it sucks?

1. It costs money. Money that I could use to pay for... mountaineering gear!
2. Time spent ice skating is time that could be spent climbing mountains.
3. I am uncoordinated.
4. I pity any poor soul that feels ice skating is romantic, as I find it to be one of the most overused and shallow ways to spend time with a girlfriend or boyfriend ever conceived. Try mountain climbing, and read my above posts if you can't understand why. If you don't like mountain climbing, go to dinner and a movie. That's kind of romantic, but ice skating...no.
